KIBM and CBAM will jointly host a regular meeting for young researchers to help foster their research community at UCSD. Our goal is to bring young researchers (non-faculty) together so they can meet, network and share research. This event is open only to YOUNG RESEARCHERS (grad student/ postdoc/ project scientist).

This luncheon consists of a few short, informal talks by young researchers, followed by a social hour. Lunch will be provided by KIBM.

Talks

Christian Cazares, Neurosciences Ph.D. student - Understanding the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Application

Intro: The NSF-GRFP recognizes and supports graduate students in STEM or in STEM education with three years of financial support throughout their graduate years. However, writing a competitive application requires an understanding of their review criteria: Broader Impacts and Intellectual Merit. Join us for a discussion on how to address these and other aspects of the application that could give you a competitive edge as an undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or a first-year graduate student.

Lara Rangel - Ask Me Anything: an early career PI

Dr. Rangel's research investigates brain rhythms and the role of coordinated neuronal networks in informational processing.

Please RSVP above.
